Title: Why is biology so darn accurate?
Members of the NITMB community are invited to join us for Research-In-Progress meetings, an informal venue for members of the NITMB to discuss ongoing and/or planned research.
Kabir Husain is a Lecturer in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University College of London. Husain works on problems in statistical physics and biological evolution, using tools from theory (statistical physics, information theory, evolutionary dynamics) as well as experimental biology approaches (molecular biology, yeast genetics, laboratory evolution). Riccardo Ravasio is a postdoctoral researcher in the Murugan group at the University of Chicago. Ravasio is interested in the connection between structure, function, and evolution in biology both at the microbial and protein level. Research-In-Progress talks take place on Tuesdays at 2:30pm at the NITMB office (875 N Michigan Ave., Suite 4010). Snacks and coffee will follow.
