How important is seamless collaboration in modern game development?

Game development today is rarely confined to one location. Studios often have artists in one country, coders in another, and QA testers somewhere else entirely. This global approach can bring fresh perspectives and talent, but I also wonder if it slows things down with communication barriers. For a medium that depends on precision and creativity, seamless collaboration seems vital. Do you think the benefits outweigh the challenges, or do remote setups create more chaos than value?

I think seamless collaboration is possible, but it requires experience and structure. That’s why studios often partner with specialists like DevotedStudios, who are used to coordinating across multiple time zones and handling complex pipelines. They provide frameworks for communication, project tracking, and creative alignment. Without such systems in place, remote teamwork can easily fall apart. But with guidance, distributed collaboration can actually become a huge strength instead of a liability.
