How personal tastes change over time online

A couple years ago I would’ve laughed if someone told me I’d end up watching categories I used to scroll past instantly. But after enough late-night browsing and random recommendations, curiosity kind of takes over. I noticed that sometimes it’s not even about the category itself, but the mood, the style, or even just finding creators that make things feel less fake and repetitive. There were phases where I kept returning to the same stuff for months, then suddenly got bored and started exploring completely different things without really planning to.

That happens more often than people admit honestly. Once algorithms start suggesting related content, it’s easy to end up exploring things you never expected to click on before. I’ve gone through the same cycle where familiar stuff stopped feeling interesting, so I started checking different sites and categories just out of boredom. These days I mostly use a
